Class Procedures:  

1. Helping other students

2. Entering the Classroom

3. Participating in group lessons

4. Taking out/putting away/caring for supplies

5. Getting into work groups

7. Classroom helpers; learning a classroom job

8. Getting help with assignments 

9. Guests in the classroom

10. Signals for attention

Sample Schedule:

8:00 - 8:30 - Prep Dance Studio

8:30 - 10:30 - Plan Choreography

10:30 - 11:15 - 1st Dance Class period

1. Warm-up (5 minutes): Light cardio and static and dynamic stretches.

2. Technique/Skill (10 minutes): Teach or review dance techniques.

3. Choreography (20 minutes): Introduce a short dance sequence.

4. Cool Down and Stretch (5 minutes): Gentle stretches for muscle recovery.

5. Closure (5 minutes): Recap, feedback, and positive affirmation.

11:15 - 12:00 - 2st Dance Class period

12:00 - 1:00 - Lunch

1:15 - 2:00 - 3rd Dance Class period

2:00 - 2:45 - 4th Dance Class period

2:45 - 3:00 - Clean up Dance Studio

Positive Consequences: Extra relaxation/meditation time, positive reinforcements such as fist bumps, high fives, smiles, or even a simple compliment on improvement or behavior.

Correcting Behaviors: Gratitude journaling, talk to and warn misbehaving students privately about their actions and discuss potential consequences, call parents or guardians if the situation escalates.

Crisis Plan: Give the student a card to send to the office or to another faculty member so that they can address their behavior.
